The Toronto Blue Jays have shown interest in first baseman Freddie Freeman who is currently a free agent.

The Blue Jays are not resting, they have just formalized the signing of Kevin Gausman for 5 years and $ 110 million.

They also signed a contract extension with Puerto Rican Jose Berríos for 7 years and $ 131 million.

Now they have shown interest in All Star Freddie Freeman to be first baseman for the Blue Jays next season.

Freddie Freeman is expected to sign again with the Braves, but there are several teams interested in him including the Blue Jays.

Freeman was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft.

He made his major league debut in 2010 with the Braves.

Freeman in 2021 played for the Braves, had a batting average of (.300), 31 home runs, 83 RBIs with 180 hits in 159 games.

Freddie Freeman in 12 major league seasons, has a batting average of (.295), 271 home runs, 941 RBIs and 1,704 hits.

Additionally, Freddie Freeman has 5 All-Star appearances, 3 silver bats, an MVP, a gold glove and a World Series ring with the Braves in 2021.

Adding Freeman to that Blue Jays lineup of Goerge Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr would make for one of the most feared offenses in the majors.

Having that lineup of hitters alongside a scary starting rotation that has Gausman, Berrios and Ryu in front of it, would undoubtedly put the Blue Jays as the top favorites to win the East division pennant.
